Use emery board to file down middle of nail to take pressure off sides. Soak in hot salt water. If you can,
try to put a tiny bit of cotton under that corner-with nail file carefully! little bit of red is not infected-If you do this today you can save Dr.bill! Soak-Cotton under nail will help a lot. All of this will!

They will numb the toe, scrape the nail down, and then cut away as much of the nail as they need to (usually not the whole nail). It won't hurt during the procedure but it will feel pretty weird. Afterward, it will hurt quite a bit but they will give a pain medication to help manage the discomfort. You'll have to wear open-toed or loose-toed shoes until the nail grows back.

Do what the girl above me said! And wear shoes that fit right..Wear sandals now that you have an ingrown toenail...Wearing tight fitting shoes with socks for a long while will cause an ingrown toenail at the end of the day.

My cousin had an ingrown toe-nail. She was complaining that it hurt A LOT!..So they took her to the doc and she was crying and crying because she was scared that it would hurt, it turns out once they started...She didn't feel a thing! But they had it bandaged afterwards.
