Depending on your age and general health, I'd recommend walking. It's an exercise that you don't need a membership at a health club, or even have to buy any equipment.

This is something that you can develop a "like" for and continue doing it late into life. You can do this "sport" around your living room, your block, your office parking lot, the Grand Canyon, etc. It's also available all 24 hours of the day for those who work strange hours!

I do a great deal of walking. It has paid off because I have lost 55 pounds in the past three plus years (225 to 170). All I did was stick to a walking regimen. Start off light and work your way up each week or every other week until you get to a distance you are comfortable with walking 3 to 5 times a week.
One warning, do not exercise every day of the week. That will do you more harm than good. Either exercise five days a week or on an every other day basis. Be sure to give your body some rest time too.
As for eating; eat in moderation. You really don't need a special diet just too lose weight. Just smaller portions of the three meals.
Lastly, you just need to believe in yourself. The results will not come quickly but, if you stick with it, it will pay off in the long run.
Good luck and I hope you acheive your weight goal. You can do it.

I suggest going out with a buddy and doing outdoor exercise like walking or hiking. I think with buddy suppoert it can help motivate you and set a goal to be reach. if you dont set it your buddy will just keep nagging you all the time. So i think a good challenge helps motivate you to keep fut and lose the pounds.

easy

get up, go outside with an ipod or mp3 thats not that big

walk for a minute, then jog at 5 mph for the next 25 minutes... trust me, if its easy for me, then its prolly easy for you too

you should listen to music that gets your mind away from jogging so you don't realize that you're jogging in the first place, thats what i like to do :)
