My dog seems sick today. Wont eat her fav treat, panting, has no energy. Maybe its a bad nite's sleep, but..? She's just really lethargic, but it's only been 2 hours, so I can't say for sure what it is. She was panting lightly a little bit. I haven't fed her yet, but I know she won't eat anyway. She's very picky with food in general. She's 1.5 years old, and an almost 13 pound poodle mix. Right now she's just sleeping on the couch. Her poo was normal, and she peed normally as well. No vomiting. Any of your doggies ever get this way? She slept really late, and woke up early, and sometimes she gets lethargic when that happens, but she's never panted/not eaten her treat.

I just took her out to poo and pee again, and she had a little bit of diarrhea this time. I called the vet and the vet tech said that it doesn't seem serious at this time so I shouldn't necessarily take her in.. of course she had to get this way on veteran's day, and a saturday so everything is going to close soon. :o)

Sometimes my dogs act that way. If it last longer than a day, I would her to the Vet. Dogs can get stomach viruses like we do. Just try to make sure she doesn't get dehydrated. Try to give her Pedialyte or the Pedialyte freezer pops.

To check if a dog is dehydrated, lift up the skin just down between the ears ( where the mother dog woud pick her up) if the skin bounces right back in place she is not dehydrated. If it doesn't and stays pinched up she is dehydrated. Take her to the vet at that point.

Hope that helps. Good luck. I hope she gets to feeling better soon.

Dog Feeling Under The Weather

A bad night's sleep never makes dog act like that. Panting when it isnt hot is usually a sign of pain. When you get that and not eating, it is usually a bad sign. Best to take her to the emergency vet. Could she have gotten into anything poisonous or swallowed something she cant digest? Even if the answer is no she could still have any number of things going wrong. And for a poddle mix to be lethargic...this smells like trouble to me. I would not wait till monday on this one.Go now.

Considering her age, a trip to the vet is the best advice I can give you. It could be any number of things related to ger advanced age. Hope she is feeling better soon.
