ok so my mom and i are in kuwait right now, i came to visit for a couple months and make some tax free money and spend some time with her. alcohol is illegal here and she is wasted all the time dont get me wrong i drink with her but she drinks until she drops, and i came here to be with my mom soberish, sometimes, she gets fuc*ed up and says really harsh comments. it hurts even though im drinking with her and i know she's drunk is it all my fault and im just thinking too much about the whole situation? i would love n e advise

i have said some stupid sh*t when i was drunk but when i drink thats when the truth comes out. i guess its just the opposite for some people, my life really sucks right now i dont want negative comments, please!!!

i cannot choose a best answer here mostly everyone has been soo respectful and not rude! thank you all, from my heart and i have tried to talk to her but thats just my mom i guess. my g-ma passed away @42 and my mom doesnt want to live passed then and tried to tell her its really just what she wants

Get her out of there. I'm sorry about the money, but you don't sound like you're having that much fun. Alcohol destroys brain cells. You want to see her sober again while it's still possible. Like you said, she has a problem. You don't. How fortunate she is to have a compassionate son! It's not your fault that she's drunk. But, this is a situation you might be able to do something about.

Theres two points to this
1) The reason why your mum is so unhappy she needs to get blitzed every day just to survive.
If you can find out why she's so unhappy you could help her to fix whats wrong then maybe she wont need the booze just to get through the day.
2) Why you are encouraging her to drink by drinking daily yourself
Maybe she wouldn't drink so much if she didn't have drinking company
You could try to help her build a better social life while you're there so she has friends and activities which will mean she wont need the booze as much.

O.K what I'm gonna say is a lil bit different, I'm 20 years old and I have never drink in my life, nither me or my parents, actually Kuwait is my country's naighbor, I'm sorry I know Its hard but why don't you try to stop drinking at all (both of you)..I know you're not a drinker...I meen what does drinking gives you any way, it only takes, it takes recpect, it actually kills cells in your brian, and those cells are noy gonna come back again!! I would advise NOT drinking with your mother. She is a grown woman who can make her own choices. You do not force her to drink, therefore it cannot realistically be your fault.
You arent thinking too much about it, but if it is illegal to drink there in Kuwait, at least protect yourself from any punishments that can arise from breaking those rules. And DONT drink with your mom. By you drinking with her, you are condoning her behaviors.

I would suggest trying to talk to your mother and see why does she drink to that excessive . She nay be just dealing with life the best she can . sometimes people say and do things that they do not mean to harm others but that is how it comes out . diffintily try to have a conversation with her about how you view the situation

Why is it your fault? You cannot make people drink until they are a drunken fool.It sounds like to me that you and your mom have issues about something or somethings that need to be talked about when sober. Good luck.

Apparently, she was drinking alot before you got there, so there's no way it is your fault. Just try to catch her in a sober moment, and explain that you came to be with her, spend some time with her, not just drink.

i know its hard to see but its not your fault you mother is drinkin so much. When someone has a problem its hard to stop it. You should try talkin to her. I know that seems to stupid but its a start. If things dont change i might consider gettin her some help.
