If someone is serious I wouldn't deem their question, no matter how ridiculous, as stupid. But there are plenty of people who are not serious and they ask truly stupid questions.

It proves that there are no stupid questions....only stupid people asking the same questions over and over again, not realizing that they could easily look up previous instances of the question they were going to ask.

The relative stupidity of the question is based on the purpose that it was asked. So it is possible that there really is no such thing as a stupid question. However, the questioners are quite suspect!

I think it proves more than anything else that people will say obnoxious, insulting things to someone under the mask of anonymity, that they would never say to that same person face-to-face.

Just look at some of the answers you've gotten to this question.

I'll go for the latter, and it also proves that the majority of the questioners out there failed to show up for grammar and spelling in 3rd grade.
