i got my dog spade almost 4 weeks ago. Just today, I saw her wound was a little red and puffy and there was a little dirt on the end. I pulled the dirt off, and it grabbed about half an inch of a stitch (which were the disolvable, internal ones). i ended up cutting that part off, and it hardly bled at all and she seems fine, but should I be worried? The vet is closed today.

It may take up to two months for them to disolve completely.
They will and the dog should be fine. Sometimes they work their way to the surface and you pull it out like you dod and that is ok to.
As long as the wound looks ok and your dog seems to be feeling fine things are ok.
If your dog sptops eating or is sick or the wound is draining anything or really red and has any swelling around it then you need to see the vet really soon.

It takes 60-90 days for sutures to dissolve. If your vet is closed, they may have an emergency # to call on their answering machine. If not, you can look up an emergency hospital in the phone book. If she seems to be doing fine otherwise, then it's probably ok to wait until Monday when the vet opens. If she starts acting strange (lethargic, no appetite, whining, etc) then she probably needs to be seen by a vet as soon as possible. Did you finish up the anibiotics your vet gave you? If not, then you should probably start giving them again until they're gone. You can use a cool, damp wash cloth to clean the area.

The vet told you that they are dissolving stitches? Wait till money and call them and tell them what is going on or take her in so they can see. It may have a bit of infection. It shouldnt cost a thing to take her back in as a recheck. She will be fine through the weekend. Dont try to put anything on it . I have been through a gozillion of these.

( the proper term is spayed )

It takes 60-ninety days for sutures to dissolve. in the journey that your vet is closed, they could have an emergency # to call on their answering gadget. If not, you may look up an emergency medical institution contained in the yellow pages. If she looks doing high-quality otherwise, then that is likely okay to attend until eventually Monday even as the vet opens. If she starts performing unusual (torpid, no urge for nutrients, whining, etc) then she likely desires to be considered by a vet once conceivable. Did you ultimately end up the anibiotics your vet gave you? If not, then you could likely commence giving them again until eventually they're lengthy gone. you should use a funky, damp wash textile to sparkling the realm.

i was worried the whole time my dog was healing from the spayed thing too. it went on for over a month. don't worry about pink -- if you have ever had an infection her infection will look the same. red and bruised and oozy. if you have a good vet the reception tech should be able to tell you if its anything so you don't have to pay for the visit if it is really nothing.

I don't think you should be worried. Keep an eye on the wound. It depends some go away faste then others expecially if the dog bothers it all the time
