I think if you turn the volume up after putting the stereo on mute the volume will go up.
However, if you raise the volume all the way and then put the stereo on mute it will become mute

Mute? - as in deaf mute? you've got a problem with deaf people don't you? What is it? Scared of people who talk in sign language? Maybe someone read your lips and got you in trouble or embarrassed you.

First thing it shouldn't bother any one if it was put on mute !! Next thing even if it is not put on mute this shouldn't bother deaf , as they can't hear a thing !!!

It might seem surprising, but it may because sound vibrates things all around you, and deaf people can feel although they can't hear.
