The Jews are the same in a sense to Muslims. We are a religion. But since we are descended from a common ancestor we are considered a nation. However, as Jews, as well as other religions and cultures intermarried we are more considered an ethnic group. Though some have assimilated, those who wished to maintained their Judaism, kept their own traditions, culture, and language aside from whatever country they lived in. It is not appropriate and even a bit derogatory to considered Jews as a race. In Israel, as you can find Jews from many countries and of all shades of the human skin tone.
