That the Earth is 4,450,000,000 years old as determined by examining the amounts of material which decays at a constant rate and can be calculated to give a very accurate age. Or 6,002 years old as jugged by some bloke adding up the ages of everyone in a collection of Bronze Age fairy storeys?

Note the dog has been domesticated for longer than 6,002 years. Just a fact for you.

First choice, the second one is completely illogical and lacks any basis in reality...

"Say No to Jesus" - LOL!! It's your prerogative to follow or not follow "Jesus". That does not change the fact that he existed. There is more historical documentation from both religious AND non-religious sources that corroborate the fact He existed and that He taught what the Old Testament of the Bible claims about the history of the world - and people followed because they WITNESSED the miracles he performed.

That's doesn't mean that the account of Creation was not allegorical IN ITS TIMELINE of the planet. BTW, who was around 4,450,000,000 years ago to document historical records?

Get an education on the facts and maybe you can be respectful to both camps! It's NOT impossible to believe the world is as old as you think and still believe a Supreme Being created it and sent a messenger/prophet/messiah named Jesus of Nazareth!

Seems like you're just trying to be antogonistic and just looking for people to agree with your point rather than sincerely seeking truth!!

The Catholic Church does not take the stories of creation in the Bible literally. Catholics believe it tells religious truth not historical fact.

The religious truth is that God created everything and declared all was good.

The Church supports science in the discovery of God's creation. At this time, the theory of evolution is the most logical scientific explanation. However tomorrow someone may come up with a better idea.

As long as we believe that God started the whole thing, both the Bible and modern science can live in harmony.

With love in Christ.

Fact: The earth's magnetic fields are dissolving too. When this happens, the sun's wind storms can affect the atmosphere and cause it to decay, harming everyone on earth with ultraviolet rays.

This will last about 3000 years. After that, the earth's magnetic north and south will be opposite from where they are at now.

NOVA documentaries on PBS television illustrate this. Something for thought.

What's of the earth is earthy: Law Law.
What's of the heaven is heavenly: Grace.

The objective is not to believe, but rather to "know".
Know the truth...makes you free of believe: Jn 8:32
For even the devils notably "believe": James 2:19

Knowing is based on what's evident from evidence.
Biblical & recorded history provide us with evidence.
Paul The Apostle reveals what's "evident" in Gal 3:11.

Believe not every spirit. 1John 4
Try 2 spirits to know which is witch:
Law isn't sufficient, so try Grace.
Grace is sufficient, so flush Law.
For both is an oxymoron: one proselyte.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ WITH YOU ALL. AMEN.

I believe the age of the earth is of no relevance....I see possibilities for creationists reasoning for both a young and old earth. What IS of eternal importance and is getting "bogged" down in this pointless debate is that you have a soul that will live on forever and ever.....WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT RECONCILING YOUR SOUL TO GOD? That's the question we need to ponder.......

I don't believe either. I believe the earth is 15 years old because that's the way groups of humans act.

Neither, I believe the earth is 4,450,000,003 years old. Those scientists better put a little three-in-one oil in their instruments.

i believe what the Words of God says, you believe what the words of man says, This is called free will. But i will warn you, you will one day wish that you would have believed the Words of God and not the words of man.

The Words of God informs us that the Earth is around 6,000 years old, the words of mere humans says it is quaddrillion years old. you have made your choice who you believe and we Christians have made ours.
