The Old Testament was Jesus' scripture. He didn't make it invalid, his point (and the point of the Gospels) is that he was the embodied expression of the God known through the Old Testament. Unfortunately, many Christians seem to think that the Old Testament is invalid and miss the rich theology and tradition of the Hebrew Scriptures.
As for as Joseph Smith and Mormonism my knowledge is limited but I can say this: Smith claimed the book of mormon was written on gold tablets that God helped him to translate. Christian scriptures were written by many different authors, gathered and collected by the Christian community, and determined to be 'canonical' (fit to be used as a rule and norm for faith and life) through prayer, debate and discernment in the early church.
I hope this helps.

RE: fulfillment vs. abolition
Jesus came not to abolish the laws but to fulfill them. In the spirit of true Christianity or "charity" peaceful law-abiding behavior can be achieved and maintained in all relationships and among all nations on earth -- by the power of forgiveness and grace, which the sacrifice and redemptive spirit of Jesus Christ brings to life, so that past injuries can be healed, broken relationships mended, and people can work together as loving neighbors instead of remaining divided against themselves and each other.
[Note: If Joseph Smith and Mormon teachings only further divide people, that selfishness and separation is the equivalent of "Satan" dividing the church and weakening the people. That type of separatist teaching is not of God but works against what is good for the public welfare. Anything that helps to heal, reconcile and rejoin is part of the gift of God through Christ. So yes, at this point, anyone who embodies this spirit is like Christ, who himself said that others would later achieve greater works than he could. I believe this means that his efforts would be replicated in greater numbers by future followers, and thus together would achieve more than he could do as one individual by building on and more fully realizing the foundation that he set forth.]
If the Old Testament lay down punitive measures for misconduct, then by preventing or correcting such violations in the first place, these old laws need not be applied any longer. That does not make them "invalid" for the same consequences may still exist; but it makes previous measures and punishments less necessary. So by fulfilling the "spirit" of the laws under the New Testament, with love and truth, wisdom and charity towards all, harmonious conduct can be established, transgressions reconciled, and relationships restored, so there is less need to use old laws to "accuse or excuse" by the "letter" of the laws as in the Old Testament. This is not so much "invalidating" the laws, but fulfilling the true spirit so the transgressions and the laws dictating how to handle these after the fact are not as necessary anymore.

a difficulty-unfastened false impression. the two Paul and Jesus reported that we could uphold the regulation (Matt 5:19, Rom. 3:31). The previous testomony isn't invalid and the scriptures did not substitute however the relationship replaced between God and guy with the aid of blood of Christ. The regulation continues to be there yet we've a sparkling way of following it. (Rom. 8:2) Why isn't it observed completely? with the aid of fact many of the 613 regulations are particular to the international locations of Israel, particularly the ceremonial regulation. God has repeated parts of the regulation meant for the gentile, and clarified all of it in the e book of Acts financial disaster 15 in case you passed off to omit that section (it variety of seems such as you probably did not get the memo). Peace.

No that is NOT true, when Christ died on the cross, the temple vail was torn from top to bottom, the services taken place that had a lamb to be slain, that was a service that was looking foward to The Real Lamb of God and the order was written in A Book OF THE LAW Gal 3:10 but the 10 commandments written in the Old Testament is forever, when God was in the wilderness being tempted Jesus quoted from Deut all the time satan was tempting Him and the third time satan himself misquoted from the old testament, if you have a reference bible look it up it will have a cross ref back to the old testament, if Jesus and satan both quoted from the same book its okay for you to use, hay free bible lessons www.itiswritten.com God bless email me too wgr88@yahoo.com

Jesus died for our sins, thereby creating a New Covenant of salvation through faith not works. Joseph Smith was a false prophet simply because he taught a different way to heaven. And, in Luke 16:16, Jesus said that the last prophet was John the Baptist. All the ones after him have been false.

Jesus came to fulfill them - not make them invalid.
Joseph Smith is a man. He is not God and did not raise from the dead. Did you see Jesus kill at least 4 people when they were coming after Him? Joseph Smith did when the people were coming after him. When we look at what he did, he shows himself to be a false prophet.
Mormonism is not as logical as Historical Christianity.

Solomon first made the OT invalid, by saying:
it's all vanity and vexation of spirit (x 7 in Eccl)
JC made the OT invalid by flushing the law: Eph 2
Note: the law he flushed was tree law of Gen 2:17.
All other laws were added, because of it: Gal 3:19.
OT, Law thereof, is faulty, ready to vanish: Heb 8
The OT, Law thereof, is being blotted out: Col 2:14
For it's written: such law law shall vanish: 1Cor 13.
However, during probate mode, it's still looked at.
I would that all hurry up probating the will of God.
For there's no inheritance till probate is finished.
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ WITH YOU ALL. AMEN.

This is news to me.
Jesus certainly did NOT make the Old Testament invalid. On the contrary, He validated it. He quoted extensively from it, and even used it to prove His authenticity.
However, as it relates to the CEREMONIAL LAW, He fulfilled it and thus makes this small part of the O.T. no more applicable to us who live after the cross.

Jesus was not written about in the bible from the time he was about 14 years old to about age 33.
There is a big gap in the bible and the old testament writes other stuff to cover this up. Most of it is made up. Very vague, and poorly written.
