Take some ibuprofen quick,,,it reduces pain and swelling and is recommended for dental pain. Then gargle with strong salt water to help draw out the infection.

The pain is being caused by infection in the tooth. Many dentists won't even pull an infected tooth until you have taken antibiotics and killed the infection. I will tell you that I am in the same shape as you, but I have been here before and know what to do. I very seldom use Rx antibiotics anymore because I found a better health supplement that works as well or better. I use Grape Seed Extract. There are many on the market but the only one I've found that works well is NutriBiotic Capsules Plus. You can buy them in any health food store. I have already had to wait a week until I could get a dentist appointment and will have to wait another week until it's pulled. It was very painful when I began the GSE, but it has held the inflammation at bay so far (and I have no pain) and I think I'll make it until next Wed. when it comes out. good luck.

Rinse with warm salty water to help clean out any infection from the tooth. Also, apply a couple of drops of clove oil to a cotton swab or cotton ball and rub that where the pain is. It will numb the area and provide some relief. Tylenol or another OTC pain reliever can also help.

She needs to go to the ER for pain meds. Her dentist should not keep her waiting for a week if she has a bad toothache. She needs to change dentists.

DON'T DRINK CLOVE OIL
Clove oil works as local anesthetic. put a small piece of cotton batting soaked in clove oil in the cavity. It numbs the nerves to end the toothache. I have had to do this before. It is a very effective temporary measure.

There is a mouthwash you can get at CVS or any other drugstore or even Grocery store and its called "Peroxyl", that helps heal infection and relieve pain, works pretty quick too.
I'd suggest an Ibuprofen or Tylenol and using the Peroxyl.

This works...go to the health food store and buy some pure Aloe Vera Gel. Put some in your month and hold it next to the tooth. I don't know how it works but it will quickly take the pain away. You can buy a small bottle for about $5.
