It can make you test positive for opaites.
If you have consumed any poppy seed items prior to the testing let them know what and how much so they know that the test may be off.
They may elect to wait and test you at a later date.

Yes. The Mythbusters did a segment on this a while back. There is a chemical in poppy seeds that shows up in drug tests.

That was on an episode of Jerry Seinfield and yes it does. Saw a science show on German TV where they actually tested it with poppy seed rolls. It does show up on a piss test but if the police is giving the test, you can request a different test that will prove the specimen is not showing positive for opiates.

Certain foods can trigger a false positive.
The issue is that knowing that, why would you intentionally ingest something that would cause you to fail a drug test?
Frankly, this information has been around for decades, so even if the test result was a false positive, I wouldn't hire that someone that moronic.

you really need to eat a lot just to have a little trace of whatever it is that ppl say poppy seeds have...but even then it wont make you fail a drug test...

no , that's just an old wise tail , folk lure , heroin is made from poppy seeds , how ever the same process are not done in digestion in your stomach , it needs to be refined

the results of drug test are often influenced by who are who the officers are who you know and many other variables. the police own the ball, bat and backyard
