Is it considered wussy?

It depends on what he ends up ordering.

A LOT of bartenders are dumbazzes that wouldn't know a Rusty Nail from a Boilermaker - ordering from "the" menu ensures that the waiter won't come back saying "our bartender is a dumbazz - how does he make your drink?"

Wussy drinks are overly sweet and colorful.

Definate wussy!! A real man orders a beer or knows what he wants. When he looks at a drink menu he seems unsure of himself and, well, a little wussy.

No, I think it's adventurous and a little sexy-kind of a tease as to his taste for adventure and taking risks. I am bored by a man who predictably orders the "Bond Martini" or just a beer or hey what ever is on tap. Ordering through the menu is showing a preference of a specific taste and not just a desire to drink. It is sexy, to me at least.

as a bartender for 24 years...i find it refreshing that anyone would want to browse for something new or out of the ordinary. it gives me the opportunity to make suggestions based on the type of food they order, and to be creative.
