I have worked in Africa for nearly 10 years helping Africans with food, transport and helping to fight diseases.

During that time I have had malaria, typhoid and bilharzia several times.

Nothing I have seen here in Africa has changed my belief that god does not exist. I do not believe in heaven or hell and therefore I am not worried about dying.

But I would like to ask if YOU think I will go to heaven or hell? Will I go to heaven for the good work that I have done or will I go to hell because I don't believe in god?

This is a toughie for me.

I admire your work, and that youd put your life on the line for it. You are no doubt a good person.

But, yes my belief, in the Bible, and Jesus as the Savior, the way into heaven, and taken the given fact you probably have heard of him (if not, its a diffrent story), and have chosen not to believe, would mean you would be bound for hell. However, I like to think, with no scriptural refrence here, maybe God would let people in for their works, and until we actually DIE, we cant know for sure.

Please no hate mail, just answering the question honestly.

Obviously the question is moot, but unnecessary... If you don't believe in something then why in the world would it matter what some other people think?

It could be that you hang out in Africa and do those things, not because you want to do good, but you like knowing that you are better than these poor people who have flies stuck to their skinny bodies. It is a way for you to feel superior.

In fact, my self esteem is pretty low, where can I sign up to do this kind of humanitarian work?

Only those of us that have the Holy Ghost in us will go to heaven and be with God. He can not look at us with our sin. You must let Him clean you up by cleaning you up with the blood of Jesus then living in you and keeping you holy. He can only look at holiness. So when He splits the sky we will meet Him if His Spirit is in us. Our spirit will not make it to heaven. It is sinnful. Sin brings death. There will be no death in heaven. His Spirit will meet Him and that is all. No matter what you have done. The Bible says only a few will find it. I have found it so I am one of the few..Believe me. You can't believe these preachers these days. The Bible also says there will be a great falling away. Talking about our churches. Ther is not one within 200 miles of where I live that preaches the truth.

Here are two verses that should help answer your questions
Epehsians 2:8,9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and not that of yourselves: it is a gift of God: NOT OF WORKS lest any man should boast.

Revelation 21:8 But the FEARFUL, and UNBELIEVING.and the ABOMINABLE and MURDERS and WHOREMONGERS and SORCERERS and all IDOLATERS and all
LIARS, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.
You can also read about the judgement of the unsaved dead in Revelation 20 verses 11 thru 15.

God is a Good God. Contrary to what others might think, there really is no "heaven" or "hell". God is our universe and everything "good" in our universe. The entire manifestation of spirit, both visible and invisible is the body of God.

"In my fathers house are many mansions". said Jesus. The physical universe is the body of God. The word "body" means all objective manifestations of the invisible principle of Life.

When the body is no longer a fit instrument , the soul deserts it and continues to function on another plane.
The physical disappearance of Jesus after his Resurrection was the result of the spiritualization of his consciousness. This so quickened his mentality that his body disintegrated, and his followers could not see him because he was on another plane.
Planes are not places: they are states of consciousness.

Good works won't get any one into heaven. It would be like buying your way in. The Pharisees (religious elders in Israel during Jesus' time) went around doing good works for the praise of man and to gain admission into heaven. Jesus told them point blank that they had to repent and love God. They didn't like that answer very much - it made them angry enough to have Him crucified!

However, your question puzzles me - most people I know who truly do not believe in God don't even think about heaven or hell. They just don't care. But you seem to care. Is it that you truly do not believe in God or do you think there might be something out there, but just don't know it?

There are many who ask "if there is a God, prove it". But skeptics don't believe even when faced with proof. The Pharisees, after seeing Jesus do miracles right in front of their faces, asked Him to provide a sign. Jesus basically told them, hey guys, I just did that. The proof of God is all around us - the dew on a rose, the smile of a child, the intricacies of nature. If you are truly searching, you will find.

There are some Truly scary people on this site. I have never come across such a group of people who seem to have so little grasp of reality. Its like every question in the universe can be answered by quoting some obscure passage in the bible.
I sort of understand your question & sympathise with you - but expecting a sensible answer here is like trying to find a spare foreskin in a synagogue

Work is not what gets us to Heaven. As for whether you will go to Heaven or Hell, only God can say that for sure. Not for us to judge yet as we do not have ALL the facts.

God (Allah) knows everything. Only God (Allah) knows which one will go to hell or heaven. But in our religion Islam you should believe 1 God that is Allah and should fulfil all his orders in order to please him so that you can get heaven.
This world is not running of its own someone (Allah) is present which is powerful and capable of controling this world. The Earth, universe everything is created by him and is controlled by him. All the universe is running on the order of Allah.
You should read Holy Quran. So that you follow a right path. Because Allah has given us brain and given us sense to choose right path for overself. And now its on us to make a research and know what is right for us.

Sorry but if you don't believe there is a Heaven, you are not going to go there. i can see it now, you enter into Heaven and say " Wow, I didn't think this place existed " lol thats funny.
