just wanted to know cuz i'm thinking of getting one of those exercise bikes.

Yes. Anything that helps burn calories and keep you active. Although, if you are getting a stationary work out machine, go with something like that cross-treader one. Look on lifefitness for more info, but that one burns more calories during a small time frame and it allows you to pick the style of workout you want.

A 200 lb person cycling for 30 minutes at moderate force will burn 350 calories. It will take 10 days to lose 1 pound.

Unless you get bored. Most exercise equipment ends up being used to hang clothes on.

As long as are using up more energy than you are eating, you will loose weight. Up excercise and cut food intake until you start loosing at a reasonable rate (2-3 pounds per week is the most i think)
