Depends on the country. Most countries do not require you to speak English to get a visa, however the forms for a visas are in English I believe. As for citizenship, in an English country you will have to speak English, unless there are other languages that are officially accepted.

I am sorry I am all for the immigration thing, but i believe if you are going to live in my land then you speak my language..We have change too many things over tha years to make immigrants happy an feel at home. Its time to stand up an put the hammer down. Christmas for example you can't say merry christmas to people anymore, its happy holidays i think thats a pack of bull.Time to take back the country an all that you an I believe in.

It probably depends on what country you want to become a citizen of. I don't think you do in most English speaking countries, including England.

If you are referring to the USA, then you don't need to speak English. Many foreign students and green card winners don't speak English well (or at all), and they are granted a visa or citizenship anyway.

most of them do for the citizenship
no sure about a visa, prolly not
BUT, my cousin works at a restaurant where the butchers are legal {they do not hire aliens} but, they cannot speak a lick of english

Yes, to get citizenship (unless you are aged and have lived here a long time, or are mentally impaired), but it isn't a very hard test.
