He invited me to the movies, to rollerskating, paintball, and a lot of other fun dates. But my mom distrusts both of us and thinks I'll get pregnant. She refuses to even meet him. What can I do/say to get her to let me hang out with my boyfriend?

EDIT:
I'm 16, totally responsible, never did ANYTHING out-of-line, and get a 4.0 GPA each and every year. The guy I'm "dating" shares all of my interests and is sooo incredibly mature and respectful.

Thanks you MASS MOUNTS for all of your answers and concern. It really means a lot to me. :)

look your life is your life.... i think you are basically scared of losing the guy.... you need to loosen up yourself.... go ahead and have (safe)sex with him; it will make you feel secure.

Explain that in order to form healthy relationships you need her to assist you. You want your future husband to get along with your family but how can you do that if she will not even meet the boys you are interested in.

You will need to address her concerns. Ask her what it will take before you can date. If it is abstinence then you can promise that. If it is birth control then you can go to planned parenthood. If you are not old enough then when will you be old enough? Try to discuss these things in a mature manner with your mother and respect her answers.

Invite him over for dinner or on some of your family outings. Consider a group "date" where some of your friends join you.

Make certain you are behaving maturely in other respects. This will help your mom see that you can handle dating.

How about asking your parents if they will let you go out with someone else as a chaperon?

Show this note to your mother otherwise.

Dear Mom,

Your daughter is attempting to communicate to you that she would like to have some fun and hang out with her male friend, won't you please share a part of her life with her and maybe take a little time to meet someone your daughter is interested in you knowing?

The most we can do for our children is just a little bit better then our parents did for us so please open your heart.

Many teens end up getting pregnant when sex has not been explained or parent ignore them and don't take time to get to know their friends! Won't you please do your part to make our world a better place?

Loving Kindness,
A concerned parent

I don't know how old you are but, I don't understand why your mom let you have a boyfriend but, you can't see him. Suggest to your mom that you will be going in a group setting with other people and see what she says. Explain to her that you are an intelligent person and you are not going to get pregnant that you just want to go out and have some fun.

Then argue the point of "Whats the point of having a boyfriend if I can't even hang out with him?" If shes worried about the whole sex thing, theres options like birth control and such. Or if shes super cautious, you can double or triple up on protection, like using birth control & condoms each time.

Sounds like they feel you may be to young yet in their eyes . Try not to be bitter about it and enjoy what little time you spend with him until your a little older. Maybe in a little time they will give it some thought and change there mind but in the mean time try and follow the rules they have set for you and gain there trust.

Really your mom is a very responsible mom. She wants to protect you from troubles and worries which are out come of these bf,gf,dating games. Look she knows better than you. Therefore, you should accept her ideas. Believe or not she is saving your dignity, respect, virginity, morality and decency. She is a great mom. You should be thankful to her and salute her.

ask your parents if he can come over for dinner and get to meet him. maybe once they get to meet him they will let you go places. or what you can do is invite him over when your parents are there and you can hang out there and let your parents see what goes on. try that!!!

How old are you? We really should know this to determine a good answer and if you should be allowed to go alone with this boy.

Parents are annoying. Tell them as little as possible. Start lying, i know it sounds bad but parents are unfair and annoying.
