You didn't get to that size overnight so don't try to lose the weight overnight , it will take time and patience. If you do take the time you have a better chance of the weight staying off. Yes you probably heard all the ways and advice before but it comes down to you wanting to lose it bad enough to stick to a program that will get results. Bottom line you must take in less calories than you use up in a day. The exercise provides two important things, one it consumes calories, two it helps provide muscle tone for your body to adjust to the weight loss. Your selection of foods is very important to ensure you are still getting the essentials your body needs. You know by now what types of foods to avoid and yes fruit and veggies are good but you still need a portion of protein etc. but here's the grabber, SMALL portions not what you have been used to. Yes there are times you will still feel hungry that is when you go and chew on the veggies.Avoid the dips, fatty foods, and min carbo's. Make a log of your progress, weigh in at the same time maybe once or twice a week , do not get disappointed it will take time......only you can make the difference, I'm pulling for you !

For starters, one mile? You need to walk for AT LEAST 30 minutes. I mean, a nice brisk walk. I can usually get at least 2 miles done in that time. Also, you should work out for 20 minutes a day every other day. I usually do Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Do exercises that build lean muscle as lean muscle will help burn calories even while you sleep which means you lose weight faster. I've done this regimen for the last 3 weeks and have lost an average of 2 lbs a week. Keep up eating fruits and vegetables. You also need to incorporate at least 3 servings of low fat dairy into your diet. Studies have shown that dairy will help in weight loss. Lowfat dairy would include skim milk, yogurt, low fat cheeses, etc. You should also boost your water intake. Make sure you're drinking at least eight 8oz glasses of water a day. Instead of 3 large meals, eat 6 small meals, this keeps your metabolism up throughout the day so your body can naturally burn more calories. Hmm... I think I've covered all the basics.

Good luck! You'll do great!

The last time I stepped on the scales I was 355, so I share a few of the issues that you do.

First and foremest, you have to exercise. 1 mile a day is a good start, but you have to get to working the cardio more. Your weight, although it sounds daunting, is not enough to stop o from using a good stat bike. So get to it. high impact aerobics are OUT until you get the weight down.

Water. Lots of it.

On November 1st I decided to try no meat for at least a month and here we are on the 11th. So far so good.

TRY to get the carbs down. Lentils and beans will help with fibre and protein. NO ALCOHOL.

The fact that you are trying means that you do want to get the weight off. I KNOW how hard it is AND THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES. YOU HAVE TO change your life.

I go to the gym 6 days a week. 3 days are cardio. Monday and Friday I do upper body and Wednesday I work on legs.

You have to want it. Do not give up. I know it is hard, but nothing that gives you good results ever is.

REMEMBER always check with your doctor before starting any exercise regime. SEE YOUR DOCTOR REGULARLY. When you are as big as we are, we are prone to a whole slew of problems - some of which I already have.

Ignorance is not bliss. IF YOUR health is bad, you NEED TO KNOW!!

Eating lots for fruits and veggies is not the only answer and might actually be bad. Why? Sugar. Fruits are very high in sugar and should be ate in moderation. Certain vegetables, usually the most liked, are also high in sugar.

Reducing your sugar intake and balancing your diet, and counting calories doesn't hurt either, can help you lose the weight.

Walking a mile must be really tough right now, but as you go it will get easier and you will want to pick up the pace. Going farther won't be as necessary as going faster. After one week, add more speed, after another week, add more distance.

You will see the pounds come off if you stick to it.

Good luck and congrats.

Most of your weight is water that your body is holding. Chances are you have about 150lbs of water that your body is holding. Try cleansing your body first. getting all the toxins out. This means no meats for seven days. Water/100%mapple syrup and lemon juice. Have to be dranked 3x a day. No eating after 8pm. When you lose weight do it lightly because of your weight. You can get exhausted quickly. I can warn you now you will be going to the bathroom a lot after cleansing. Now after the seven days. Don't just go back into eating meat start with vegies/and fruit by the third day start introducing meat back into your diet.

Your on the right track. Good for you! I would suggest you watch your caloric intake in general. Cut out excess fats and sugars, processed foods too. gradually increase the length of your walks, or pick up speed. Check into those Walking poles.. my friend uses and loves them. Dont completly deny yourseldf anything, that just makes it so much harder. With the Holidays so close allow your self one meal a week to "splurg". If you find treats at work, have 1/2 a cookie.. not 3 or4. Have a spoonfull of a special food.. not an entire serving, I think you get the idea.

Wish I had the will power to follow my own advice! lol

Good luck!

Unless you plan on walking a mile a day for the rest of your life, I would stop that habit. Stay active in a way that you can perpetuate forever. Take baby step toward eating healthier food, less sugar and sat fats from meat, balanced, small, and frequent meals. Do this for the rest of your life and you will reach your goals. It may take a couple years to get down to a health weight, but then you will be able to keep it off.

Keep it up and watch what you eat. You may be eating a lot of fruit and veggies but are you eating a lot of chocolate too? or chips? Just keep in mind that a bar of chocolate or a bag of chips is equal to the calories burned during your mile. Is the snack really worth your extra effort. count your calories and set a goal for yourself. Just small to start though because you don't want to get discourraged. Check out the link below for a diet site that will help A LOT. I love it there. and if you want to use my name for who refered you in there it is crystal419. good luck and hope to see you in there!

The biggest issue is an impacted colon. When you have bowel movements raise your feet 6-8 inches on a short stool or a pile of books / magazines. Use a high fibre diet to scour the intestines. do not use enigmas.Muscle test for food allergies/ sensitivities. Is your endocrine system in balance? stop using the microwave, processed foods. Eat 80% raw and 20% cooked. You can e-mail me for more details.
