When I bought my last speedbag(a few years back) it came with an apparatus which you would screw into the wall. I wouldnt do this in your apartment since you rent the place and the landlord proably doesn't like holes in his walls. Take Sportylef..'s advice and buy a bag that comes with a stand.

I had the same problem a year ago, you probably purchased the tradition Everlast speed bag mount...however it took me a few days to realize id rather have a stand that mount this thing on the wall since its easier and wont damage the wall. I returned the bag, and got the stand which included a heavybag mount and also a speed bag mount as well for only a 100 bucks. I know this doesnt help you, but I see you probably just purchased this and I highly recommend the stand, heavy bag work is a lot more fun but I love the speed bag too. Good luck with boxing

ok for the speed bag you needa good stedy wall or find a huge
holdeer to put it in
now fro boxing all you need to do is put barbwire on youre gloves HE HE
