If it's an older cat, there shouldn't any problem, just put the box in a secluded area he can get to easily and show it to him. If it's a very young kitten, you may need to put him in and rake his paws through the litter to give him the idea. In any case, you want to keep the box clean and fresh or he won't use it. I recommend a covered box because cats like to play in the litter more than I like to sweep it up! Good luck!

Just show it the litter box, usually comes naturally. If not, the first time it "poops" take the poop and put it in the litter box then show the cat, it's instinct will be to cover it. But I wouldn't worry, even kittens usually automatically know how to use the litter box. Just make sure you clean it daily, most cats won't go in a dirty box.

Cats are very clean. You just provide them with a clean litterbox (that you will clean regularly) and put it in an area with litle traffic in the house so he/she can have privacy.Put the cat in it when he arrives home so he's aware of it,and several times during the day, especially after eating. He'll train himself. Keep the litter level high so he can dig a lot, this encourages bowel movement.

Litter training most cats is pretty simple. Show him where the box is, then take one of his paws and use it to dig at the litter. That's usually the end of it, but a few need to be shown more than once if you catch them doing their business elsewhere.
Good luck!

In most cases, adult cats are already litterbox trained, and the shelter/rescue you are adopting from, will let you know if they aren't. Even a kitten is usually litterbox trained by the time they are old enough to be adopted out. It's a skill learned early.

When you bring it home let it look around for a bit on it's own to get aclimated then when you pick it up put it in the litter box. It will know what to do. Good luck & remember Kitty will be the new King or Queen of the castle. You are about to give up authority of your domain. :)

Show them where the litter box is and they usually figure it out on their own. If not, try confining him to a small room for a few days until he learns to use the litterbox.

All you need to do is put her paws in the litter box and she will go in their naturally. When I first trained my kitty I had no problems.
