As far as I know, Jesus never referred to His Church as Catholic or Protestant. He said "Follow me."
I am a protestant, but I really don't like to identify myself as a Christian, because of all of the False churches that are teaching anything but what He taught; so if someone asks me what my religion is I say "I follow the teachings of Jesus."

Christ taught that the true church is like a field of wheat, and some bad seed gets planted amongst it, but the good seed will be separated from the bad seed at the time of the harvest, the end of the world. The Catholic Church, the actual institution of Rome, I believe is nothing more than another denomination following Christ. The Catholic Church has some traditions that I think go beyond scripture and are unnecessary, yet I do not condemn them for it; I consider every Christian denomination my brethren unless they give me a reason not to. I know not exactly what grounds you would have to argue that the Catholic Church is God's only true church. Most Catholics say because Jesus told Peter that Peter would be the rock the church is built on and the Catholic Church considers Peter the first Pope, but similarly an Anglican might consider Peter the first Archbishop if they wanted to. Afterall the early Christians did not call themselves "Catholics" they called themselves members of "The Way", or simply slaves to Christ. I don't agree with Protestants who have nothing better to do except attack the Catholics, many times Protestants show Catholic history to indicate the evils the church has done, but the Protestant churches have their share of mistakes too. So long as our heart is pure, and our sins are sanctified, I don't care if you call yourself a Catholic or a Baptist or a Lutheran or a Presbyterian, I'll simply call you my brother or sister in Christ.
Is Christ divided?

Christian=Christ like I can ask you the same thing you asked, Did Christ teach to criticize other churches? Yet it seems you are doing the exact thing you are telling others Christ did not do by saying yours is the only church that is Christian. Jesus said, "there are other sheep I have that are not of this fold." Does this sound like only one church will be presented in Heaven? There are Christians in every church, not just one and a true Christian would not be telling others they are not going to be a Christian just because they are not of their church affilliation. If you want to talk universal, you best check on your facts as the Catholic church is not the only universal church there is that is all around the world. It may be the biggest but it does not mean all are going to Heaven that belong to it or that it is the best or only one. narrow is the gate that leads to salvation and FEW there be that find it but wide is the gate of destruction and many there are that will find it. Best get a bible and start reading it to see what God says about it.

There are Christians in the Catholic churches and the other denominational / nondenominatinal churches.
The One Church consists of every person born of God. God looks at the honest heart, not so much the denomination of the Church.
Jesus is the High Priest that He can save people anywhere in this world. It is important that the True Gospel be preached to someone. For how can one be saved unless the Good News is preached to that one.
The True Gospel is that Jesus Christ the Lord is the Only Begotten Son of God, born of a virgin without sin nature. That He overcame satan's temptations and was the Sinless Lamb of God for the remission of our sins and rose from the dead because He was with out sin and regained control of the keys to death & hell. Death had reigned sins the fall of the first Adam. Now Jesus has the keys to death & hell.
The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus.

That's an idiotic question.
1. Because all that's required is to believe in Christ and what he teaches. That's all you need to be a Christian.
2. Pretty much every religion in the world fights every other religion in the world. Even the denominations with a religion fight each other. What would make the Protestants any more different from anyone else in that respect?
Incidentally, Catholics do the exact same thing so get off your high horse.

The first church established after Christ was Orthodox not Catholic. The Catholics split from Orthodox and put a pope in power. Orthodox is considered catholic (meaning universal) and apostolic. Protestants are christians since they believe in Christ but the true church is Orthodox. Very similar in style to Catholic since that is where Catholics started from.

Some protestants do do that, but not all of them. Many of them attack the Catholic church because their denominations came from the Catholic church, and they are simply bitter. The Protestants separated in the first place because of ancient problems. The Catholic Emperor Charles V was selling indulgences to rebuild the St. Peters Basillica.
I, for instance, am both Catholic and Lutheran because my father was Lutheran and my mother was Catholic. My father was previously Catholic, but he switched to Lutheranism because of many other petty things. He didn't like that the clergy was celibate because he could not relate to them in many ways, eg. dealing with marriage and so on. Many ancient people didn't like this either. Luther and Calvin separated and allowed clergy to marry.
So, some do attack Catholics, but it's only because they are bitter about some things that they do not agree should go on in the Catholic church.
And about attacking synagogues, temples and mezquites, you are right in saying that Christ did NOT teach to attack them. Some people just think that their denomination or religion is the only "true" religion. I believe that God comes to people in many ways. And I also think that anyone - Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, Hindu - that if they truly care about their god, that God will reward them and send them to heaven.
So, in short, I think that some denominations just think that they are the only "right" people.

Jesus taught quite the opposite, but as those outside the Evangelical church can see, Jesus also taught to love all. And that is rarely taught to be lived out in the Protestant realm. Actually they think Catholics are going to hell. Figure that one out, if the first actual denominational church set up after Christ is damned for eternity what hope is there for them?

Because the Catholic Church is not the Church that Jesus founded. In fact, it wasn't founded until the fourth century with Emperor Constantine. The first Christians were Jews, not Catholics. I've got nothing against the Catholics, but I don't care for the Church. It teaches a gospel contradictory to what the Bible says.

I don't know of any Protestants who attack the Catholic church but I do know many who take issue with their non-biblical practices like telling their Priests that they can't have a wife when the Bible clearly teaches the opposite.
1 Timothy 3:2 It is necessary, therefore, for a bishop to be irreproachable, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, well-behaved, hospitable, skillful at teaching;
1 Timothy 3:12 Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children well, and their own houses.
