The best thing you can do is get the advice of a qualified patent professional. If you can't afford to, then for only $100 you can file a complete description of the invention as a provisional application for patent with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (see the link below), explaining exactly how to make, perform, and practice it. Then you have a year before you have to get a nonprovisional patent (which should only be prepared by a patent professional). In the meantime you can call your invention "patent pending" and you can show your idea to companies who might want to buy it.

If they do want to buy it, aside from paying you for it they will probably be happy to prepare, file, and prosecute the nonprovisional patent application (which is very expensive to prepare in a way that will produce a valid and valuable patent) in return for your assigning the patent rights to them.

If you don't have a lot of money, it is difficult to use the patent system. You need money to draft and file the patent, but then you have to ask yourself "Can I afford to defend the patent in court or sue someone for infringement?". What if you lost the case?

I would read Patents, Copyrights & Trademarks for Dummies' before deciding to go ahead. It is written for US patents, but a lot of the advice applies to all countries. It explains that often, copyrights (which is free and automatic for the author of software) and Trademarks are a better or cheaper way to make money from your invention.

Legal costs may be cheaper in India, so that might be a reason to patent it there.

Don't disclose your idea to anyone, as that can stop you patenting the idea.

And please do not forget that it is still your own opinion that the idea is new and that it can be pretected by a patent. I guess, you do not have the means to do a through search on all publications and patents in the world. But the patent office has these, perhaps not all, but if they find one single occurence of your patent, you have already spent some money that will never ever come back.

first you get patenet your idea in India, which is cheaper than other countries. Then you ask for world copyright through Indian Government. This process will be cheaper than any other mode.
