Why is it that many people, of any religious faith, go through the thought process that there -must- be something of greater signifgance in existance, and denounce others for their beleifs? Why is it that many people -need- the thought of a God or ultimate power to help them with life's problems? Sure, one may be a moderate, but for those whom thank their God or Gods for every little action that occurs in the everday scenario, and pray constantly for some divine aide - What is your thought process that leads you to needing this thought, rather than accepting that we exist, and do not cling to a though of higher power, or question why we are here - Afterall, we are alive, and we do exist without any noticable divine intervention.

Listen up - This is to reflect your own opnions. I have no "Void" in my life, and for the sake of an actually reasonable answer, I am simply wanting to make people reflect that many others have different opinions, and one religion should not dictate every single human being. No matter what you say, I am perfectly happy without focusing in religion, I have my life to live, and I gaurentee it will not be spent praying for something that I am skeptic of. So please, take your solicitations, and your out right opnions of me, and shove them where the sun don't shine, and simply answer as a poll: Your reasoning to why humans "need" religion.

First question: Because misery loves company.
Second question: Those who are weak-willed, who do not understand the true nature of reality, must seek outside of themselves for god.

The reason for the "thought process" you describe is that every human being is built with a "God Consciousness". God created us to have a relationship with Him, as friends and children.
When humans lack that relationship they constantly wonder what it is they are missing in life. They search for fulfillment in many different ways, often filling this hunger with other things only to find that they are never truly satisfied, until God fills that hunger.
I don't "pray constantly for some divine aid", but I know that God is present with me to help if I need His protection or assistance.
Despite your statement that we "exist without noticeable divine intervention"...that is only your private experience. Many others would witness in a court of law to God's amazing intervention in their life events, far beyond the possiblity of coincidence or statistical laws of averages.
It is only when you personally invite Him to show Himself to you that He will reveal Himself. I suggest giving it a try. Otherwise, some day, you will come to the realization that you can't do everything by your own power, or in your own strength.

There are many reasons to believe in God.
Some are fundamental such as ... look at how things are in the world around us - we have air that sustains our life (protected by a 20 mile thin layer), we have food provided in our environment, trees that recycle our air, our bodies are amazing: think of how your body uses food for energy, things like our eyes and ears, our heart that beats independently for 80+ years, our ability to walk, make and improve things ... on and on. Those who take this for granted are missing one of the great beauties of life.
You see... God created all things, in love, because he wanted to share in life with us. But in his wisdom he gave us free will, choice, but we are selfish and rebelled against him. He is perfect and can have no part of our rebellion, so he comes to us through faith or our rebellion separates us from him.
People who see him in everything, and thank him, are wise and have a greater love and purpose in their lives. He is an ultimate power, greater and different than us, but compeltely loving and merciful. The divine intervention is everywhere. Albert Einstein said "There are two ways to live. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as if everything is a miracle." Think of all the things around you as a miracle - your very life is a miracle.
If you want to read "The Purpose-Driven Life" by Rick Warren. It clearly explains these things.
We are dependent on God - whether we acknowledge it or not.

Or not. Maybe God is real and does control every little thing. The great thinkers of old(the ancients) when observing the world almost always referred to something controlling destiny. A power of fate. They could see by observation that something had control of all the events of life. Many did not believe in God but could see something was there.

Every person is born with a void in their life, this void is made for Christ, but many try to fill this void with other things, like sex, drugs, alchohol, material possesions, work, or anything else that takes them away from Christ.
Many feel what you are discussing above because of this void that is in them from Birth, a yearning for something, meaning, importance.
This same void, is what the Holy Ghost uses to draw people to Christ.

I believe in God. Whether this is to help me through problems, or because I know He is real inside of me is irrelevant. It doesn't really matter what the reason people go to God for. At least they feel He is helping them with their problems and that is all that matters. Or so I think. (not to mention, God is cheaper than a psychiatrist)

That's easy, since God created us to worship Him and our whole purpose of being is to glorify Him, what else should we do. When something is designed for a specific purpose, it only makes sense to use it for that purpose.
