Your probably zooming it and its just the pixels you see. If you see it on actual pixels its not blurry. Or you can go to the character menu window and choose sharp instead of smooth font.

That's not blurry. It's pixelated. When the vector text was turned into raster text, the pixels (the little squares that make up raster files) for some reason are too big and the corners of those at the edges of you text are sticking out. Be sure that the text file has a higher resolution than the one in the example has. (I know that web images are supposed to be 72.) If the pixels are smaller, their corners are less likely to stick up and show. Make a few test samples of text of the same font at the same size but on files of different resolution, : 72, 125, 200 and right click on each text layer and "Simplify" then view each one in File>Save For Web. I just tried this and they all had smooth edges. Maybe it's the font you're using. It could also be the interaction between the resolution of the text file and the resolution of the rest of the banner. Is every element in the banner the same resolution? If the pixelation persists, use the Magic Wand to select the text. Then go to Select>Refine Edge and contract the edge a couple of pixels and smooth it.

When you open the pdf, do you have to choose the resolution? Choose 300 instead of 72dpi, it can help...

Other things you can try:

Look at the file by double clicking the zoomtool (= 100%), is your text still blurry now?

Check if your font is properly active.

Open the Character-palet (Menu Window) and check the possibilties at the right (arrow), click smooth.

PS
Be carefull if you open a pdf in photoshop: some things can disappear! It's better you check the pdf in acrobat and photoshop, to see if there aren't any changes to your file, by opening it in photoshop - it wouldn't be the first time...
