Dear Mud-Thou hast said it! Its sheer BS, and the concept literally ruined years of my life due to guilt for just being born.

No. Original Sin surrounds and affects every human being in the world. We do not inherit Original Sin by blood nor are we guilty of it.

The Catholic Church talks about the Fall in this way:

The account of the fall in Genesis chapter 3 uses figurative language, but affirms a primeval event, a deed that took place at the beginning of the history of man. Revelation gives us the certainty of faith that the whole of human history is marked by the original fault freely committed by our first parents.

If we assume that the theory evolution is true, the scenario might happen like this. A manlike being is slowly evolving. At some point God gives these beings a soul

These human beings lived in complete “original” holiness. They loved God with all their heart, with all their soul, and with all their mind. They loved their neighbors as much as they loved themselves.

Then, at some point, the first human beings disobeyed God, choosing to follow their own will rather than God's will. This was the Original Sin.

Consequently, they lost the grace of original holiness and sin became universally present in the world.

Besides the personal sin of the first human beings, original sin describes the fallen state of human nature, which affects every person born into the world, and from which Christ, the "new Adam," came to redeem us.

With love in Christ.

You can think as freely as you want.

If by "original sin" you mean Adam and Eve in the garden, eating the fruit of "the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil", then "NO".

Their actions do not reflect either redundance nor absurdity. What they did represented free choice of will. God did not restrict their thoughts nor their free will.

Eating the "fruit" of The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil is far more complicated than you realize. Its ramifications are universal.

What could appear to you as a "trap" was actually a pre-formulated plan from Earth's design on the celestial drawing table, for God to intervene in mankind's history, and show His unconditional love.

You are intellectualizing as a rationalization for not facing your own inner weaknesses.

Free thought is great. But the day you step over the threshold from this life into the next, you may wonder why you didn't make different choices, or think other thoughts.

If so many should be without any stain of sin. Do you know any one with out any sin? No wrongful lusts, never calling someone stupid or you fool, absolutely with no sin? Hasn't everyone at sometime had to say I'm sorry for wronging another. What child isn't taught to say I'm sorry? Seems like reality shows every one to some degree is a sinner. Why is that ?

I don't believe in the original sin. Everyone is accountable for their own actions, but the supposed actions of someone that could have existed a zillion years ago.

No. Spend some time with children, then you will understand even from an early age that there is something inside of all of us that rejects the good.
