Why do we have to have an answer for everything? It will be revealed to us some day when we meet the Lord. In the meantime, why not just love each other and ask God to sort out the details. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. I wouldn't tell a parent that their son is going to hell because he committed suicide. I would grieve with them and let God take care of the details.

From what Christians tell me, suicide is considered murder (or even worse) and you will indeed burn in agony through the heavy hand of God's eternal love in Hell.
But they also tell me that it doesn't matter how long it takes for you to die. Just the act of killing yourself damns you. Let's follow that logic further, shall we?
So a shotgun to the head, taking pills, jumping off a cliff or smoking cigarettes doesn't matter. You are knowingly killing yourself with any of them. So that must mean that ALL Christian smokers are going to Hell! What a bummer!

I have know people to go crazy and commit suicide, they didn't know what they were doing. I think the question should be, will a saved person go to Hell if he commits suicide? The answer is no.
An unsaved person will go to Hell no matters how he dies.
The next question is , can a saved person commit suicide?Maybe if he has a mental disorder.

Suicide is wrong; however, trust that the Lord knows exactly why someone would be taking their life, and that He will judge accordingly (even though suicide displeases Him). A person that commits suicide because of fear, pain, or loss of all hope is a very different situation than someone that kills himself whilst murdering others (like a terrorist vermin would). The Lord is fair, and will always judge rightly. Value life, value your life.

No, it's not true. It's just a scare tactic so that people who are being exploited will stay around and give their money to religious organizations.
Suicide is a sad thing, to say the least. For anyone to imply that it results in "hell" is just plain mean.

OMG! I cant believe that there is another person out there in this world that thinks this also!my g/f's sister thinks the same way.and me and her sister's husband always gets into it with her sister.she says that she will go to heaven if she comits suicide but if she is saved first b4 she comits suicide than she will go to heaven.and me and her husband tells her no thats not true.if you die even if you are saved by god,you automatically go to hell.i have changed my path now on my religion, but i still say the same thing to her.because from what i know of the christianity bible that it says it is a sin to kill.and that if you did comit suicide how could you ask forgiveness?she says well, you can b4 you do it!me and her husband says thats bullshit.you havent even done the sin yet.so how could you ask forgiveness if the sin hasnt been done yet?!she always fights us tooth and nail about this topic.her sister agrees with me and the husband of her sister.so in my opinion,i think it is wrong and a sin for a person to comit suicide, even if they are saved by their god.they cannot ask forgiveness from him because they have not done the sin yet.therefore when they die, they cannot ask it neither.because they will be judged.so end of story.and hope this helps ya.i hope to goodness you dont do that crap!you will go to hell.if you believe in the christianity way.but best of luck!
blessed be,

According to most western religions the answer would be yes. (Something about punishing those who try to leave behind the unpleasantness of this life in search of a better one. I never quite understood it myself)

Does God's grace not extend to those who are so depressed and having such a hard time in life that they would actually take their own life? Isnt that punishment enough? In other words, I say no.
