Yes, it does help! My friend and I used to listen to sad love songs after our break-ups. This is because once you're hurt and you listen to the sad songs, it brings you back the good & bad memories to make you more pain. And once more pain is added on, you cry too much and too long, you'll start to get numb after a period of time. In the end, your wounds will be healed. It's the same practical as drinking a venom snake's blood when you're poison, it cures eventually! Same theory thingy like doing maths -ve times -ve, you'll get +ve results! You get what I mean?

IMO it helps if you just spend a few days pretty much crying and wallowing after a break up. Don't try to repress the sad feelings, but let them out. So locking yourself in your room and listening to sad love songs and crying is a good thing to do, as long as that doesn't last more than like a week. At some point you need to kick yourself in the butt and move on with your life.

You might want to limit how much time you listen to sad love songs but it does allow you to get thru the grieving if it releases some of the sadness you carry in your heart. Once you get thru the pain of it all you will be in better shape.

I always used sad songs to "cry it out", not for very long though, maybe a week. Then it's time to move on, listen to happy music.

Sure it does, why not? You get to cry and release your emotions. Then, when you are done crying, which you do tire off, you get empowered. I like some of the words. They talk of the breakup and then talk of getting over it. I just like to listen to sad songs, even when I am happy.

Have you ever heard of pouring salt in your wounds.
Love songs or country music after a break up is just that.
Play rock or Jass or just about anything that does not involved relationships.
