If you mean a side of beef, you will need almost all of a full size, lay down freezer. That is, an entire appliance devoted to the meat, not just the top half of a typical refrigerator/freezer combo.

You should find out how many cuts and pieces are included. I would imagine that you would have to have a separate freezer to store that much meat. Go to an appliance store and ask how much cubic feet is needed for what you're getting. I have a commercial freezer and it can easily hold a half of beef. But, you may be able to get away with a smaller free stand freezer.

You mean a whole side of beef? Or has it already been processed by the butcher? Either way, give yourself half a deep freezer of space at least. Half a hog, processed, took up half my medium sized deep freezer.

How big is your freezer? How big is the side of beef? In most cases 3/4 of it.
