It could be something called a 'fibrous nodule' as well which would hurt more when you put pressure on it but is perfectly harmless.
However, in case it is DVT why don't you call NHS Direct if you are in the UK?

Im confident there grew to become into an underlying reason for the coumadin to start with, to boot the dvt's. something is putting you in threat for the dvt's to start with. so which you mustn't be taking your self off coumadin. i could see the scientific professional good away. Your putting your self at bigger risk of coming up next dvt's and throwing a pulmonary embolism. The signs and symptoms of dvt are: redness, swelling, discomfort, heat temperature, over and around the component to discomfort. you will sense discomfort once you flex your foot upward. In nursing we call this the homans sign, it particularly is to attempt for dvt's. apart from, i could be particularly worried in case you developed chest discomfort, discomfort upon inhalation, shortness of breath, sweating, those are signs and symptoms of pe.

Is there swelling either below where the pain is or at the site of the pain, is the skin hot to the touch, is the skin reddened. If the answer is no then it is not likely to be a dvt. If the answer is yes get yourself to the doctor or hospital ASAP.

The pain of DVT can vary a lot between individuals. In my experience, it can be anything from a mild ache to an intense feeling of tightness, and the pain doesn't have to be there all the time. If you are concerned I would have a low threshold for going to the doc/A&E, especially if you have any reason to suspect you might be at risk (eg family history, recent immobilisation, long journeys, smoker...).

It can be different for everyone. For me, I felt like my leg had a cramp at first, like I had been exercising and I couldn't get my muscle to relax. Then it started to feel like a rubber band was around my leg. My entire leg turned purple and was cold to the touch. I also started loosing feeling in my toes.
In less severe cases, I have heard that it may be in a localized area, may be red and hot to the touch, and be painful.
The best solution is to visit your dr. If you are ever worried about a DVT, the dr will be the best judge in determining if in fact this is truly your concern. Good luck.
