I have a regular cork board above my desk which is packed with photos. I would like something else that I could move things onto but would prefer it to be homemade. Any ideas?

well, My ides since you already have a cork board would be to go to buy some inexpensive fabric that you like at walmart or some place like that and a roll of ribbon and a small pack of rolled padding and some heavy duty spray glue. Once you have all that, measure out the padding to fit the whole top of the cork board from corner to corner. use the glue to glue it in place then take your fabric and cover it all with enough to go about an inch onto the back folding over the corners like you would a gift box. gluing one side at a time Then take your ribbon and do any pattern you like so that you can slip your papers or pictures behind then. Then you have a board that is personalized to your liking. Make sure to use a thin, flat ribbon. Good luck.

How about one of those "French" style boards? A piece of board covered with fabric with ribbons that criss-cross across it. You can slip photos, notes, etc. under the ribbon. You can use fabric and ribbon to match your room.
