There are several helpful sources to locate scholarships and grants for colleges from different organizations and companies. All of these sources are free.
First, the high school guidance office is a great source for a high school student to find local scholarships available to its students.
Second, college financial aid offices and website has a list of private scholarships from companies and organizations. Sometimes a college major's information website might have a listing of scholarships available, too.
Third, search Google.com and Yahoo.com for scholarships based on race, religion, ethnicity, and college major.
Fourth, some pretty big name companies also offer scholarships for particular fields. For example, Tylenol has scholarships for the health professions.
Fifth, some employers offer scholarships or help extend the knowledge of its employees such as McDonalds. Also, some professional organizations offer scholarships.
Finally, join several free membership scholarship search websites. Most are updated on a regular basis. Often, they offer customized scholarship searches based on the information you enter into the form.
Good luck!

I would say keep your eyes and ears open for scholarship opportunities during your junior year, but the real push for finding them and applying for them will be in the senior year. Also, do your best in school, as many colleges will award scholarships for academic achievement, and sometimes such nice scholarships that no other scholarship is even needed. -wish you well.

Go to you school rescource center and ask what your school has available. Schools sometimes have scholarships available but you won't know if you don't ask. Also go to www.fastweb.com it is a great resource for scholarships. Once you fill out the profile for them, they will do the research work for you or at least most of it. You will have to apply for the scholarships yourself.
Good luck. Start early it is along process nd scholarships have deadlines.
Good luck
