I bought a counter top and one of the things on it left a very sticky residue and I can not seem to find a way to get it off

If you don't want to go out and buy something pour a little salad or olive oil on it and let it set a few minutes. It will take a lot of elbow grease but rub rub rub and it should come off. I've done this with labels and it works every time and does not damage the surface. Goo B gone sometimes can. Good luck

There is a product called "Goo Gone" that works wonders, look for it in hardware stores, etc.

Some have luck with a bit of rubbing alcohol, or nail polish remover. Be careful and spot check first so you don't damage your finishes.
