If you absolutely have to have it sweet then use Splenda. It is made from sugar but doesn't have the effects of sugar. Even sugar subsitutes should be avoid where possible because they tend to elevate you insuline.

At better health food stores or on the net seek Pure Birch Sugar.

Start with www.ultimatelife.com for the Ultimate Meal. Click the catalog and click Ultimate Sweetener. Read up and go from there.

The cost will keep your sweet tooth in check and Birch sugar will also please the back of your palette; something the subs for beet sugar have yet to do.

Also check out Turbino sugar on the net and at the general store. For oatmeal and coffee I'll use it in place of refined sugar any day. How sweet it is!!!

I think that you should use Splenda. Splenda is made of the same things as sugar but without the calories. Try to avoid sweeteners with Aspartame because too much of it is not healthy. Splenda has no calories and therefore, no fat or carbs. Its a great alternative to sugar.

Try stevia. It's a root extract that is sweeter than sugar without the calories. It does have a slightly different taste though. It's available at most health food storesa and some major food stores.

To sweeten green tea I use honey. You really shouldn't use more sweetener than is absolutely neccessary. You could also use stevia to sweeten your tea. Stevia will sweeten without adding calories. Stevia is available at most health food stores.
