You can, but it will not be as resiliant. You want a pie crust to be flaky and crunchy. Chances are that if you replace the shortening with margerine, it will become chewy.

You can but it will not be as good, margarine contains water, if you do not want to use shortening the best thing that makes the best crust is pure lard.

you are better off using butter, cause it's natural ..shortening or some margerines are made from artificial Hydrogen called Partially hygrogenated oils..which are bad for you.

I would not use margarine in anything. Butter is a very good substitute .
