There are academic, achievement, and personal characteristic scholarships. The academic is based on either GPA or test scores. Achievement could be in sports, clubs, or even winning a contest like the spelling bee. Characteristic could be in areas such as being left handed, an ethnic group, religion and more. If you are in high school, they have a list of local scholarships available to its students. Also, join several scholarship search websites because most offer a specialized search. Check your local library, there are tons of scholarship books....you can even get a scholarship if you are left-handed...some of the scholarships in those books are insane...but they are completely legit
