Which way is the freakin toilet paper supposed to go on the dispenser?Should it feed top to bottom in the front?Or bottom to top through the back?I know how I always do it,but everyone has an opinion on this one.Don't forget to defend your logic.Seeing it on an old broadcast of All in the Family doesn't count

Toilet paper, Toilet paper?
I use a hose in the garden, if it rains I don't.

The toilet paper should definitely have the flap hanging from the top. This makes readily available, and if you do it the opposite way, in order for you to be able to conveniently reach the first flap, the toilet paper has to be hanging down further, and it looks tackier. Plus, if you have the flap hanging down, the dog is more likely to get ahold of it and string toilet paper all over the place.

Most toilet paper dispensers are mounted on a wall, facing either forward or backward. The roll should be mounted so that the tissue dispenses towards you and doesn't rub against the wall.
The wall is "public" property and you have no way of knowing what's on it. If the wall isn't clean, and the tissue rubs against it, you've just put whatever is on the wall onto your tissue and are going to use it in an area that is susceptible to germs to begin with.

This is too funny! I vote for over the top for easier accessability, but every household and every member therein has their preference or no preference at all.
Now, a question to you. How many of you believe that a sentence should not begin with the word 'okay?' This is another example of a never-ending peeve.

If you have a playful kitten, it HAS to be fed down the back with only an inch or so hanging down. Otherwise, the cat will have the entire roll piled on the floor in about 23 seconds.

well with a 15 month old baby, its best to take the tp off the dispenser, cause if your not carefull it will all end up in the toilet or in giant wads of baby spit balls... and thats no fun, before he discovered the tp i preferred it from the back, that way you can yank it just right and it tears off pretty easy, I guess.. good luck on your quest... :)

I can't believe that people actually thought about which way you're supposed to put the toilet paper! Who cares? I mean, except if you have dogs or cats who go in your bathroom.

I always like it better when the toilet paper comes down in the front. I find it extremely difficult to reach my hand under and get it from the back. It frig-fraggin-haggin annoying.

there has been a study on this and the result is that if you put the roll on the dispenser so it comes off from the top you will use less sheets

So the design is visible on the part of the roll hanging down. That means the hang is away from the wall.
