G'day Kittypinkfur,
Thank you for your question.
You already have some good suggestions. It depends on whether the bulk of the 30 guests are adults or toddlers.
The main thing is catering to the toddlers. Kids parties are often held in the afternoon with food provided mainly for the children. You can provide snacks for the adults and ask them to bring their own grog.
Kids like things like fairy bread (hundreds and thousands on normal bread) and chocolate crackles not to mention the birthday cake. That will require plenty of work judging from the level of effort my sister-in-laws put in to the cakes they make.
I have attached some sources for ideas.
Regards

How about Philly Cheese Steak subs, potato or macaroni salad a big green salad, fruit salad, b-day cake, ice cream and beverages. You could make the subs on large loaves of French or Italian bread, and slice to size.

Buy the large bags of frozen (cooked) meatballs and put them in the slow cooker with Cheddar cheese soup, a little water, shredded cheese (near the end of cooking time) and paprika.
Happy b-day in advance :-)

There are so many possibilities for this I have a large family to feed on special occasions and am always looking for something different. Here are some of the things that I have done in the past. Cheap easy and good!
Mostoccoli Bake (penne pasta, red pasta sauce, ground beef, italian spices and mozerella cheese over the top) brown ground beef, boil pasta mix all ingrediants and bake in the oven. Sprinkle cheese over top to melt. Serve with salad and garlic bread.
Beef Stew with biscuits or rolls
Chili with crackers and peanut butter and or cheese sandwiches
Macaroni and cheese with ham serve with any veggie
Hamburger Pie (bottom layer brown is ground beef with chopped onion second layer is slices of american cheese top layer is instant mashed potatos. bake until cheese melts and swerve up with some green veggie.
White chicken chili with cornbread
tacos - make ground filling chicken just dice some boneless chicken up and satue then mix with the taco seasoning and reduce as you would with the ground beef. have bowls of chopped lettuce, cheese, tomato, etc and let everyone make their own. heat up canned refried beans and you have a meal
BBQ chicken legs with parslied potatos - these are so cheap you can bake these in the oven top with bbq sauce. chop and boil some inexpensive potatos then toss them with parsley salt pepper and butter.
IHope this helps :)

You may want to double this recipe
INGREDIENTS
12 lasagna noodles
4 cups leaf spinach lightly packed
2 cups ricotta cheese
1 cup grated Mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® Salad Dressing, divided
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 (26 ounce) jar pasta sauce, divided
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions. Drain and cool. Mix spinach, cheeses, 1/4 cup of Ranch and seasonings in large bowl.
Set 1/2 cup of pasta sauce aside. Pour remaining sauce into greased shallow casserole dish at least 10 inches in diameter.
To assemble flowers, spread 2 to 3 tablespoons of cheese mixture on each noodle and roll up. Place flowers, curly side up, in casserole dish. Mix remaining Ranch with pasta sauce; drizzle over each flower.
Cover and bake for 30 minutes or until heated through.
