and we are grateful for folks like you that remember and support us. Now (continue) to be a good citizen and vote when it is your turn!

A veteran.

P/S Don't thank me thank those that:
Died in war or were crippled, blinded in action.
Remember those children because mom or dad is never coming home.
These are the ones that deserve our thanks and thoughts. I made it home from the Gulf war and have a good life. The ones mentioned about are not as fortunate as I.

Our family greatly appreciates our veterans. We went to the cemeteries yesterday to put flags and flowers on our veterans graves. We wanted it done before everyone came out today.
We are having of some of their war memorial medallions repaired. Some people have been disrespectful and broke them. It hurts to see when someone does things like break them.
Today we also remember the sacrifices by the families waiting here at home. Especially the families who have an empty place at the table that will never be filled.
We also remember the sacrifices made by the people here during World War II. It was much harder than people today know. If you are lucky to have a family member still living who lived through, then ask them what it was like. Many will be more than happy to tell you about it.
It is also important to record our history before it is gone. As our seniors citizens get older, more of them die and we lose our history. It is a good way to honor and remember our veterans.

I'm a non-combat veteran and my flag is flying today. Unfortunately, it is the only one on my block. Most people think today is just a reason for department stores to have a sale.

Yes and totally amazed to see it finally happening today. My memories from returning from the far east back in the 60's don't recall such as what is happening today.
