no way. hes to young to be left alone with an animal or to play with an animal. he could accidentally hurt the cat or the cat could get angry at being poked or pulled at and hurt your child. that's nuts animals and children even children as old as 4 and 4 need supervision and lots of care when dealing with pets.

no because at the age a cat can hurt a 8 month old wait atleast when your child turns 1 year old then they could play with the cat but they could play with the cat as long as the cat dont bite or claw or scratch the child.

It depends how the cat reacts and his personality. Just keep an eye on him because kids that age might pull tails and do things to hurt the cat and in turn the cat might scratch or bite.
My 2 kids were around 4 cats from birth. All was fine.

I am sure your 8 month old will be fine with the kitty, as long as the kitty is okay with your 8 month old. We have had cats through all 3 of my daughters. Cats are very well adjusted to the kids and accepts them.

Yes as long as you keep a close watch.Don't leave the cat in the same room as the baby while baby is sleeping as cats have been known to lie on babies faces and smother them.

Yes, as long as you stay around them. The child needs to learn about animals and to be around them. I have 5 cats and my kids have always been around them.
