It's like this, I just started EXCEL gym(sp?) in my school and we just started doing really hard warm-ups,jogging for 10minutes a day, lifting weights, etc. I already consider myself a weakling because I never benchedlifted before and 2days ago I discovered I can only lift the bar up and down 3times. But by the end of the day I managed to attach 2.5 per side of the bar up and down.

BUT ANYWAYS,for the past 2days though I have huge cramps on my thighs, the front of them. They hurt whenever I walk and everything. Ovisally it's the weekend so should I still excersize even though my thighs hurt and arms hurt also.

By the way I am 5ft 5inches tall,16years old,and I weigh 110lbs. If that info was needed.

I drink lots of water, probebly too much. Before the whole gym thing I usually drank at least 2gallons of water a day in large amounts because no matter how much I drank I was still thirsty. I was already tested for diabeties twice previously and it both came out negative.

if you are sore, then you should take it easy for a while. Warm up before lifting weights and exercising is always nice. ;)

Usually this is normal. If you've never really exercised before, your body isn't used to it, and that soreness is part of the muscle building process. However, it couldn't hurt to take it a little slower the next few workouts, so that you can get used to exercising more often.

But you should work up to 4-5 times a week, working at least 30 minutes.

intake more water.

Alot of the times cramps are caused by dehaydration. Drink some Gatorade and a crap load of water. Then do a wark up before you life.

Lifting with cold muscles is hard on your body. Warming up and stretching increases the amount of oxygen flow into your muscles and will increase performance.

You may want to incorporate a yoga routine before hand.

if you are sore, then no, dont exercise on the weekend, give your body a rest,,,

i think most people have dropped the old "no pain /no gain" attitude,,,, and now strive for pain free exercise expierences,

that doesnt mean that you will have no soreness at the very beggining,,

rest,,,,, and try warm showers or compresses, or cold compresses,,,,, alternating the two helps also,,,,

bengay, or a simalar product /cream from the drug store, can help also

good luck!

Do not workout when you have cramps or your body is very sore. Your body is getting used to physical activity, let it get use to it slowly because the last thing you want to do is get injured.

Excersice is good for you, but dont hurt yourself over it. Only do what you can without over-excerting yourself.
