I think your environment plays a bigger role. If you grow up in an alcoholic home, you are more than likely to become an alcoholic. You learn what you live.

A little form column A and a little from column B. I think there is a hereditary propensity toward addiction. Throw in environmental factors, learned behaviors, peer pressure and life stressors and BOOM! A full blown alcoholic.
