Is it just my taste, but lately all the cookies crackers and chips I have been getting at Wal Mart have an old taste to them like they have reached the end of their shelf life? Has anyone else noticed this

You should check the dates on the packages. Perhaps they are past their recommended sell by date.
The other day, I bought a bag of Smartfood popcorn in the company cafeteria. It tasted stale. I looked at the bag and it was 2 weeks past its sell by date, so I asked for my money back.

When you go to buy these items, check the dates on the boxes. If it's "best if used by" and the date is coming up, don't buy that box. It's shelf life is ending soon, so it's not very fresh.
