i've been with my boyfriend about 1 1/2 years and i still don't know if i can trust him. I have trust issues anyway so i'm not sure if it's me or if he is untrustworthy.

His friends have cheated on their girlfriends and once he told me about when his friend cheated on his pregnant girlfriend and agreed that he thought his friend had to because this girl was so fit.

my boyfriend always looks at other people when i'm there so what is he like when i'm not.

I'm really againist cheating and would never do it to him and i admit that i'm quite a jelous person sometimes.

Should i just be more laid back with him and trust him?

They are friends for some reason. They have to have some qualities alike. Dont trust it if he told you if the right person comes around then he would cheat more than likely he will.Theres no way around it. find someone that'll be faithful.

A word of advice, open both of your eyes when you are dating, keep one of your eyes close once you are married. So you should always be alert. I am not asking you to not trust him, but remember the possibility that nine men out of ten will cheat at some point in their lives if the opportunity presents itself. My boyfriend cheated once in our four-year relationship. Time doesn't change a person, at least not the way we want them to be. Let him know that you are feeling insecure (a boyfriend should make sure his girlfriend is secure emtionally & physically), if he doesn't seem to take care, then perhaps he is not the boyfriend you think he is. Good luck

there is a saying, which i feel can apply to many things in life, "be careful, cautious , and concerned, but not overworried"

i think you have to trust people, until you have a reason not to,,, evidence not to,,,,, at same time, you have to be alert for signs,,, and finally use your heart and mind,,,,,

the fact he felt his friend had to cheat, is a warning sign,,,,,, no man needs to cheat on their girlfriend, much less a pregnant one.

all you can do is be true to yourself,,, and expect the best from him,,, if he doesnt deliver,, walk/run away,,,,,, there is no excuse for cheating,,,,, its a sign of immaturity and self centerness,,,,, anyone mature enough to even be in a relationship, can end that relationship before they turn to someone else,,,,,,
and in todays climate, its not even just a trust or moral issue, its a health one also!

Sounds like this is maybe your boyfriend, right? Well, if he's like this, it doesn't really matter if he's cheating or not - he's just being a jerk - so he's probably just wanting to end it and doesn't want to tell you - so then maybe stop calling him (if he's not answering your calls, right) and just see what happens. Sorry, but these things happen and you should just move on.

I'm a man.
There is one true and tested way to see if a man can be trusted.
This is what you should do:
Look at him while he is a sleep. If you can see or hear his breathing that's the sign that tells you he cannot be trusted.

If you don't trust him then you don't truly love him, because trust is one of the basic components of love. Think twice now before committing. It's either you trust him and love him or you don't trust him and break up with him.

a relationship would be going nowhere if theres no trust. if you feel you cant accept his past, let him go now. or else you will be forced to compromise things that are so against you, and live a life of pain and fear.

maybe he does not trust you and is trying to find out something from you...like something he knows you did and did not tell him...maybe its plain reverse phsychology(pardon the spelling)...think about it and talk to him you can decide after.
Good luck!
