My insurance doesn't either. It sucks, huh? They'll cover an annual gynecological checkup, and that's it. They don't want to hear any more about "women's problems" after that.
Once you're pregnant it is much easier to qualify for Medicaid. Basically you just have to show that your other insurance doesn't have maternity coverage, and you can't afford to purchase it separately (which very few people can, it's EXPENSIVE!). After you prove that you'll get a card and a list of doctors.
You can find out where to apply by calling the office. Look under the government pages in your phone book and find the listing for "Medicaid/Medicare". They can tell you what your state requirements are, their hours, all that sort of thing.
It's possible that you won't qualify, but the vast majority of uninsured pregnant women do.
Not pregnant yet? The minute you get a positive test, you can run to Planned Parenthood and have a blood test done there. They'll give you a letter saying you're indeed pregnant and you can fill out your application at the Medicaid office the same day.

Those are great options. However, if you don't qualify you can always try a maternity discoun program. They negotiate the price of your doctors visits and your hospital bill. BUT, you can so this yourself too. We don't carry maternity coverage or doctors visits on our health insurace (even those my hubby sells health insurance!!). If you et your doctor know that you are a cash/self-pay patient, they will give you a discount for your visits. Also let your doctor and the hospital know that you would like to start paying your bills now instead of after the fact. We just had our 4th baby in September. I had a c-section with a 3 day hospital stay. By paying in advance, I only paid $4500 instead of the $15,000 that it would have cost me to pay it out monthly! Good luck and congratulations on your new arrival!

What kind of God-awful insurance do you have???
The only think that will cover pregnancy once it's pre-existing is Medicaid. The government will pay for it, at that point.

Maybe I am reading your question wrong, but are you looking for insurance to cover maternity clothing, and baby accessories, like a crib?
If you are then there isn't a insurance policy in the world that will cover that stuff. You can try social services and see if they can help you out with that.

Contact your local social security agency. You may be eligible for Medicare if your insurance won't cover your pregnancy related expenses.

First, go see if you qualify for a state medicaid card from your local department of health and human resources. If not, try this -- http://www.babychatter.com/maternityins.html
