I wonder too, for I realized that although I love pancakes and french toast, they did not do well for me...made me really tired. Sure there are healthy foods and I eat anything, whether it's considered a breakfast food or not. Sometimes, I prefer cereal for dinner for I've worked 12 hrs and just want somthing light that late and I choose the better cereals, not adding sugar to them.
Oatmeal, scrambled eggs, whole grain breads, low fat cheeses, fruits, are good healthy foods for breakfast. Variety, whole foods, and moderation with fats is what I try to use.

Breakfast should, in fact, be the most fattening meal of your day. It provides the energy to fuel you through until lunch. Fortunately, there are many healthy options for breakfast...here are some I enjoy:
Oatmeal (get a flavored one such as apples & cinnamon or maple sugar....its not that bad and great if you have high cholesterol or are trying to trim down. use low fat milk if you can)
Fruits - apples, pears, melons, grapes....create a fruit bowl! have a little LITE cool whip if you want :)
peanut butter on whole grain bread is great fuel for the day
bran muffins
omlettes made WITHOUT the yolk, chop up some onion and sprinke in some cheddar cheese
a nice tall glass of apple, orange, or grapefruit juice (get the ones with NO sugar added or even better, juice your own fruits!)
my favorite: honey nut cheerios with 1/2% milk and sliced banana!
Enjoy : )

I almost refuse to start my day out like that. The sugar makes my stomach hurt in the morning. I like fruit and yogurt or a smoothie made with silken tofu, berries, and a splash of juice or real oatmeal with walnuts and a touch of honey or grits with cheese and bacon or sausage or fried apples with wheat toast. Joe's Special is always good. It's scrambled eggs with spinach, onions, and ground beef. I use ground turkey. My absolute favorite breakfast is dinner leftovers.

The basic foods we eat at breakfast are: cheese, bread, "olive", egg, butter, seasonal vegetables like tomato, cucumber, and seasonal fruits.
We take our sugar necessity from honey, mixture of molasses and tahini, and jams.
We drink milk or fruit juice like orange, grapefruit, lemon at breakfast since we have fresh "citrus" all winter.
We sometimes eat omlette, toast, or other kind of stuff too.
Mediterranean foods are delicious, and healthy.

Sure there are. But, Americans arent healthy anymore.
Me, I just skip the whole breakfast thing. I love breakfast foods, but I just cant seem to have a appetite when I wake up.
My fave's
Egg & Cheese Omlette
Cereal & Toast
Bagel with Cream Cheese
Bran muffin, lightly toasted, little bit of butter
See that, my faves areent sugary, but they are sure fattening. LoL

I don't even eat breakfast foods (I love them but never seem to get up in enough time) Instead I raid the fridge for last nights leftovers.
