pdf allows u to take most/any file like a drawing and info that was made using a special program and allow it to be sent to u and viewed by u with out having to have the special program to open and view and print it.......ex: my surveyor uses a program called CAD EXPERT to plot and draw land surveys for me....he then converts them to pdf and sends them to me....if he tried to send them to me without converting them to pdf i would have to have the CAD EXPERT program on my computer to view and print them.......
