It seems to me that people are more comfortable with me as the 'fat friend'...and make weight loss impossible.
Do you think I'm just being oversensative?

They are probably just scared of you losing weight. Your obviously already a very pretty girl and they might just be jealous and worried. I would DEFINITELY cheer my friend on....heck I'd probably work out with her and we'd lost it together!! YOU GO GIRL!! YOUR AWESOME!!

I would be supportive to a Friend trying to lose weigh provided that they actually had weight to lose. There are a lot of people thinking they are fat when they are not.I'm not sure how they can make it impossible for you to lose weight. You are the one that puts food in your mouth, they have no control over that. I have several Friends at work that are trying to lose weight so when we plan a pot luck lunch we bring things that they can also eat. Try talking to them and tell them you need their support, not their lecturing if you eat something they think you should not. But are they not being supportive or do you really need to lose weight. Do a BMI at www.healtcalculators.org.

Your friends cant make weight loss impossible for you.
Its all on you and your determination. They may not understand how hard it is to lose but they seem to love you for who you are. Being overweight hasnt stopped the friendship so I dont think losing weight will either.
Try to find a support group so you can talk to those who truly understand the struggle.

Some people are jealous when friends do something they can't like lose weight or quit smoking.

Not only are they not supportive, they will sabotage.

Your best bet is to find a couple good weight loss sites and make new "supportive" friends.

If they accept you for who you are now why wouldn't they accept you if you attempt to try and be more healthier? If they always call you fat and make fun of you they aren't really good friends. But it seems to me that they are good friends because they accept you just the way you are. :) I would support my friend if she needed to loose weight. but only if she needed it. If she was skinny as it is I wouldn't support it. I would try to talk her out of it but instead we would excersize together, not to loose weight but to become healthy. :) Hope that answers your question.

If a friend of mine could lose a few pounds, even if it wasn't necessary, I would support him/her. I don't think you are being oversensative. I understand where you're coming from. Sometimes it may not help to ask your friends what they think because they could just be saying things to make you feel better. I know that one, too. Just do what you feel you need to do.
