This involves much more than just copying a couple files with modern applications. For simple programs, you may have single executable (blah.exe) that you can back up. But for any non-trivial application, installation involves dozens or hundreds of other files and registry entries. Just copying the installation directory under c:\Program Files won't be enough, I'm afraid.

Hopefully you have the installation files themselves, and that's what you would want to back up to DVD along with any data files you've created along the way.

You need a CD-writer or a DVD-writer, some blank cds or dvds (empty) and a program that will do the job, like Nero. Install the program and follow the instructions. It's quite easy. To download Nero: http://askcomputerexpert.ws43.com/download/

Very simple. I'll assume you have a cd writer. Put in a blank cd, drag and drop the programs on to it, like any other window, then click on the left where it says "WRITE THESE FILES TO CD"

What you need is a DVD drive, if you don't that means you cannot copy from your pc to cd.

Just go and buy a DVD drive and connect it to your computer, after this you right click under this icon on my computer, you will see if it is not there, that means it is not a DVD drive.

Use NERO to do this. In that select the "Make Data CD" option then, just add the program and click next. Give the CD a name and click on BURN.
