Dogs don't like to be alone. Given some time she may learn to accept her fate and actually enjoy being outside but right now she's young and wants to be with you. don't pamper her, just put her outside a little at time and give her something to keep her occupied, her favorite toy or bone.

I have the same problem. I have a 6 year old dog and whenever a stranger comes to our house, he doesn't stop barking even though we put him in a closed room. It's really annoying but I haven't figured out any tricks yet to keep him from barking. That's just what dogs do. You should probably play with your puppy rather than leaving her alone.

Well, if the dog is barking, there must be a reason as to why it is. Maybe the chain is too short or is hurting her. If your backyard is fenced in, i highly recommend free reign of the backyard. If she is barking to come in, let her in! Try to treat her as you would a little child. They are not all that difefrent!

We learned a great trick from a trainer that works with show dogs. You get a clean spray bottle and fill it with water and a LITTLE lemon juice and spray it towards the dog's face, not directly into it. They do not like the citrus in it. It is very effective and safe for your dog.
