Just having a college degree does not give you prestige, nor does it give you common sense. You have to build those things for yourself.

A college degree gets you a better job and shows you value education. I think there is a certain amount of prestige associated with working hard and achieving academic goals but real prestige comes with the actions you exert after school; on the job, at home, as a fine human being and helping others.
